New Pizza Place Speeds to Redwood City
Need to satisfy your pizza fix? Speederia Pizzeria in the Oak Knoll Shopping Center just opened this month.
If you love pizza, you’re in luck—Redwood City is gaining a new pizza restaurant for the start of 2012.
3201-A Oak Knoll Dr. / 650-367-7260
The Oak Knoll Shopping Center is now home to only the second Speederia Pizzeria location in existence.
The pizza restaurant opened for business on Jan. 11, though is currently only open from 4-9 p.m. daily. Employees say once more help is hired, they plan to start opening for lunch at 11 a.m. every day.
The San Carlos location, which was the first to open, has proved to be a unique and popular pizza joint, serving up what they call “real, New York-style, thin-crust pizza” with a “high-level of efficiency,” comparing their employees to a high-performance racing pit crew, which is where the idea for the name originated.
Bill K. of Palo Alto said on Yelp.com, “I’ve eaten here a bunch of times and always had great quality and good service.”
Melanie B. of Santa Clara calls the San Carlos location “a great, casual place to satisfy your hunger for a New York-style pizza!”

Where the heck is Oak Knoll shopping center? Can you post an address for those who are not familiar with the names of shopping centers? Would love to give it a try.

We had their pizza over the weekend. Super yummy! It is great to have another take-out or quick eat-in restaurant in our neighborhood. I have never heard this area called Oak Knoll shopping center - very fancy. It is at the corner of Canyon Road and Oak Knoll, across the street from the Canyon Inn and in the shopping center with Sanchos and Canyon Coffee. Sadly, still no Emerald Market.

This is perfect! Thanks for clarifying the location everyone. If it takes me more than a few minutes to get my pizza, I get cranky.
What's your favorite Speederia pizza? I highly recommend the "Central Park."

I love the roasted red pepper and pesto pizza, which used to be a regular pie but now is only a special. Enjoy!
